Jun Shihan Jim Whittington 6th Dan-Renshi

Sensei Jim started his Shukokai karate career in 1987, with Shihan Tom Beardsley 8th Dan, in Hereford and Shigeru Kimura then world Chief instructor.
Still with Shihan Tom and part of Samurai International, with Hanshi Paul Mitchell as Chief Instructor and Kaycho Shigemasa Kawata 10th Dan as World Chief instructor.

Samurai Red Dragon the name of Sensei Jim's clubs, in mid Wales and borders.
Having trained many adult and cadet students to Dan grade (Black belt), also National and International competitors & Champions, as far away as Australia and Japan.

Sensei Jon Whittington 4th Dan

Sensei Jon has been training for 36 years and teaching for the last 25, he helps run Samurai Red Dragon along side his father Sensei Jim & Sensei Chris. Jon has taught with Sensei Tom Beardsley at the main dojo in Hereford for 4 years & has had the honour and privilege to teach and work with Britain's elite forces , West Midlands/Mercia police forces & several Bodyguards groups .

Sensei Chris Burgin-Lynch 4th Dan

I started my karate life back in 1994, I attended a local karate club in my home town of Melton Mowbray.
Fast forward to 2005. I made the decision at 34 years old to join my local club in Knighton Powys, Samurai Wales. After the initial anxiety of the first couple of lessons I was hooked. I spent the next 18 years learning all about Shukokai karate and all that it encompassed. Training at least three times a week and trying to do the best that I could.
I also train with a number of different instructors in Wales and England.

Sensei Brian Wilkinson 1st dan

I have been a member of the Shukokai Karate Samurai Red Dragon club since 2011. Several years previously I had practiced another form of karate but Shukokai came as an enlightening experience. The focus is on self defence. The teaching is an ethos of discipline, character development, endeavour, self respect & respect for others is encouraged. From white belt and colours to black belt over the years improving techniques and gaining knowledge.
